Gardening has been a part of me for as long as I can remember….back to childhood days of picking flowers in my grandparents garden, eating freshly pulled carrots, washed under the garden hose, from my Dad’s garden, and competing in local Fall Fair competitions. I have many memories of strawberry patches, potato patches, corn fields, raspberry bushes, wild flower fields, and flower beds…I think my biggest influence came from my Dad, starting seeds together, planting and discussing the many topics of gardening. Today my love is for perennial gardening and designing. My husband is in the landscaping business, we make a good team, he handles mostly hardscaping and I do the plant work…We have had our place for 15 years and I don’t think we have had a complete lawn for one full season because we are also digging, adding, changing or creating…we definitely enjoy it. I have also done some design work and planting for local cottage residents which have turned out to be very rewarding. Gardening is like yoga…good for the mind, body and spirit!
