My goal for the start of 2009 is to purchase a new home with a large enough yard (front and back) to plant a variety of fruit trees and bushes. Working from a site called www.fast-growing-trees.com – I have completed a preliminary sketch of how/what I might plant in the yard.

In the interim, I am trying to learn as much as possible about the different trees/plants that I might purchase. I have already started with a small number of dwarf trees on my patio…and two plants indoors. So far I am doing a much better job caring for the trees than the plants! Trees 5 out of 5 still with me…plants not so good… 2 out of 6.

Somewhere out there in the myfolia.com domain, kingdom, phylum…species – I will offend someone with the following comment: My guess is that us gents on average do far better with trees than plants. I believe it very well could have to do with patience. The added patience to provide plants with not only a good dose of water like we do for trees, but also to take the time to make sure that they actually get a somewhat regular dose of sun! PS – some gents get this backwards on occasion.
