Carrots Harvesting: First attempt at a harvest
Well it has been a few months since I decided to see if I could grow carrots. They have been growing slowly through winter but today, I couldn’t resist pulling a few of them to see how they were going. They were looking all nice and orange on top and one was defiantly not in the ground!
Lets just say they wern’t as long as I was hoping them to be. Hmm maybe I should have let them stay in there a few more weeks…
There were tasty!!

Scented Pearl Planting Out
after agonizing for months over what sort of plan should go along the fence to help cover it up it was decided that a few Scented Pearls would do the job, two per pannel to help cover the fence faster (so I didn’t have to wait till I was old and grey before the fence was covered)
So on a wet and cold sunday we made our way to Poyntons and picked up six of them (plus the normal 30kg of soil – ours is so bad we always need to add compost/planting mix etc)
By this time, it was raining but we were not dissuaded, the rain would make the ground easier to dig up! After about an hour of huffing and puffing, they were in their new homes!
Time for a hot shower and a glass of red as a reward!

Standard Ficus Repotted: upsize!
we discovered that this one was sneeking its roots out of the pot and down into the ground!!! no wonder it looked so good!
Now it is in a nice big half-wine barrel and that should keep it happy for a little while at least

Parsley Planting Out: Moved into the driveway
well the parsley didn’t really seem to like its pot (I think it was just a bit to shallow so I moved it into the box on the driveway with the corriander and the carrots.
Lets see how it goes out there.
