martha washington asparagus Transplanted: Transplanted my small asparagus in a bed today
I planted the 5 small plants in a bed today that will be their final home for the next 15 years or so! I also planted the rest of the martha washington seed in that bed. I will see if they germinate in the ground. I hope they will weather the winter fine out there and be ready to start growing next year. I covered them closely with cardboard to stop so many weeds from growing around them. I’ll have to continue to weed them. I also planted radishes in the rows to just see where they should be coming up. I’ll pull the radishes and by that time the asparagus should be coming up good and taking the space.
This row is the first thing I come to at my garden. I’m going to cut off the first area for different variety of asparagus. This entry is about Crystalwill2's martha washington asparagus planting in the Asparagus bed garden

I’ve been waiting and waiting for these seeds to come up. Seems like they take around 15 days to germinate.

leaf lettuce Dormant: Does anyone know when to collect the seeds?
This plant has flowers bolted above it. At what point do I know when to collect seeds? I read somewhere it will get fluff on it to fly the seeds, but it hasn’t yet. Can anyone tell me? It is a variety of leaf lettuce.
