Madagascar Bean Harvesting: Letting the beans dry on the vine
Once dried, these beans are easier to spot for picking. The vine has started going beserk. I hope it doesn’t become a problem to manage when the rains come.
Each bean pod produces two or three beans, which I have been allowing to dry further on the kitchen bench before storing in a jar. Hopefully in a couple of months I’ll have enough for a meal. I reckon if I planted this vine along the front fence in place of the ugly vine that has been there since I moved in, it would be very productive.

Watermelon 'Crimson Sweet' Moved: Whole container moved to veggie patch
As an experiment, I am growing watermelon in a self-watering container alongside other watermelons growing in the ground. So far, these plants in the container are growing much faster, with larger leaves and earlier flowers than those in the ground.

Luffa - For The Fence Branching: Pinching out growing tip of luffa
When this luffa plant reached the top of the fence I pinched out the growing tip. This proved to be a good move as now the plant is growing in both directions along the top of the fence. Note to self: try this with other vines.
