Artemis77's Square Foot garden
I found out about Mel Bartholomew’s Square Foot Garden book while searching for gardening books on Amazon. Reading it really opened my eyes to the raised bed technique – it seemed much easier than the container gardening I’d tried last year (too many pots! what a nuisance!). I started late, around mid-June, and I half of what I planted were transplants (tomatoes, three types of peppers, cucumbers, basil), the rest from seeds (beets, bush beans, spinach, two kinds of lettuce, broccoli raab, and chard). The seed experiment is going so-so… we’ll see!
