Knowlesie's Flower and Shrub garden

Created on Thursday, 03 Jul 08

My garden is about a third of an acre with lots of different features and aspects. The plot slopes away from the house and the soil very free draining.I like to keep it as informal as possible without it becoming untidy. Mostly to the front of the house I have a pergola quite a few shrub or herbacious borders with a fountain water feature and also a pond with fish, frogs and newts. Its place where the blackbirds come to bathe. I have a large Yew tree that I estimate to be 400 years old, thankfully it is a male but unfortunately for my neighbour he has a female and also all the berry’s in autumn. To the rear of my house I have a patio with raised beds and in a corner a small terrace where I have built an arbour.
