Buddyzz's Colorful garden

Created on Friday, 29 Aug 08

Few months ago, I visit my aunt’s villa and I collected self hybrid impatiens walleriana seeds. Now they’re all in their flowering stage, and some are developing strange flower shape, more resemble like orchid.

And this month, I trial breeding them. I cross pollinate impatiens with different colors, heights, flowering habbit and flower shape (Blue x red, orange x vermilion, pink x red, blue x pink) . And the success rate is 100%. Some seeds already become mature and some already starts growing in pots, we’ll see in couple of months what’s their flower color and shape.

And I found that orange impatiens are more tolerant to heat, than others.
