The front garden is on a bit of a slope. Or rather, two slopes with a flat bit in between. It gets more sun than the back, so I’ve made the larger flat bit into a veg patch. The bottom slope on that side is terraced, and will be used to grow mostly edibles after the soil has got a bit better. The top slope has a couple of apple trees on it, and will be left to get a bit wild (it’s a pain to mow!).

The small bit has herbs on the bottom slope, perennials and annuals at the top feeding into a variety of shrubs. Oh, and a really good strip of alpine strawberries to munch on.

The entire place is a bit breezy, so I’m working on shelter. We now have a water butt out front, and will have a decent compost bin out there soon. It’s coming. Slowly but surely.
