I’ve grown many herbs throughout the years, but you seem to have a flair for the exotic and unusual, as well as medicinal. Outstanding documentation for medicinal uses of certain herbs. The garden photo with the hollyhocks and jerusalem sage… well, totally stellar. Great job! You’ve made some wonderful contributions to this fledgling garden site.

Herb, thanks again for your comments and observations in my garden area. You recently mentioned your attempts at photographing the humming bird-like eastern spinebill. Here is a thought (I did this recently with success), why not load a video camera with a one hour tape and place it on a tripod aimed at the location where this bird hangs out. Turn the camera on, and step away. Chances are you will catch a glimpse of this bird, and some other wildlife in the process. Then, you can take still images from the footage and post them here. I will be posting some hummingbird pics soon, and ya know it makes one wonder if Folia might want to accommodate wildlife and insect photos as well.

    Hi there
Did you get around to the flat leaf parsley? Thanks for your comment on my herb garden – sadly this isn’t going well but your lovely garden gives me good cause for hope. I will think about re-planting in the spring and will perhaps be a bit more detailed in making choices.

Hi Linda Mae, Well here is the weird thing. I noticed a flat leaf parsley has magically just popped up in the garden. Must be a stray seed from last year or from the compost. I often have things sprouting up uninvited and its great when its herbs and not weeds.

Hi Linda, I did loose a fair bit but have started again now. I have another water tank and will get a third soon to stave off the dry times during this year’s summer. I’ll be putting more effort in to ‘drought-proofing’ the garden too.

    Thanks Tanya!
