Medicinal Herb Is it safe to cut back a very leggy Rhododendron

    4 responses

I have been growing a very nice Rhodo in a shady spot in the garden for about 8 years, but I have only had growth at the tips of the branches last year and this year. I don’t know how or if I should prune it back, and would apreciate some advice.

    Ginkgo Biloba Ginko has awoken.

    Overcast 14°C / 57°F

Ginko has just started sprouting some new green growth. After spending the winter looking like a dead twig the ginko is awake and growing fast.

    Medicinal Herb A new beginning

    Overcast 15°C / 59°F

I’ve not made an entry for a while as the garden has been in a sad way. A bit of rain has started to fall and all sorts of things have begun popping up as the garden slowly comes back to life. And we’ve bought another big rain water tank to catch what does fall.

The Murray is still in critical condition though, on it’s last legs even. The lower lakes have been declared dead by some. Lake Albert is currently 0.32 metres below sea level and is in danger of becoming acidified. This has already resulted in the death of turtles, fish and other wildlife as their habitat is degraded. The Coorong, the world heritage listed area, a unique environmental wet land is also in critical condition without any flows form the river Murray.

But our local patch probably has sufficient stores now to last next summer.

Next update: ‘Taming the Sour Sob’ (Regimentus Oxalis Oxalis).
