The is the garden in the back yard of my house. The yard is mainly for my dogs to run and play in, so I garden around them. I have 4 foot chain link around 2 sides and 5 foot field fencing along the third side and the final side has 4 foot field fencing and a gate on one side of the house. My dogs could easily jump my fence if so inclined so I started growing a shrub border to try to encourage them to stay back from the fence.

This area also includes two kitchen gardens, one in the only full sun spot in my yard, at the corner of my property facing where we park the cars and a second kitchen garden that grew up around an oak half whiskey barrel that is covering up the end of an old laundry post. All my herbs and vegetables are grown in containers due to both their slightly odd locations and mainly because it keeps the dogs out of them (so far…).
