nax Flowers

I believe it was Vera Marie a few days ago wondering where the flower gardeners were, as the food growers have been fairly prominent here lately. While my food growing can charitably be described as laissez-faire, (for want of a better term, like neglectful), my flower growing is downright Darwinian. Survival of the fittest. However, more than half my plantings are in fact ornamentals, and the beauty and changeable nature of these plants is one of the chief joys of my garden. I’m still getting lots of bloom, even some of the summer bloomers have gotten a second wind; I still have campunula, both wild and cultivars, canterbury bells, phlox (ditto), cleome, the cut back prairie cones are coming back, and many annuals—the gomphrena and late-planted impatiens in particular really loved Thursday’s rain. So no veggies today, just plants for the joy of the image. I wish I could tell you what they all are, but frankly, I haven’t a clue!
