Water
Hurricane Hannah passed by us today, dumping 10-inches of rain on us in 16 hours. The wind wasn’t bad, so the garden looks fine. I had to tip water out of several containers, but that was the worst of it.

Wow – that is a LOT of rain!!
Hanna’s remnant is raining now in Boston, but it seems like the worst of it passed inland of here, which is nice. It has been very dry for the past couple of weeks, so this moderate rain is very welcome.

I wish I’d measured the rain we got too. Truly, I’m just so glad it came.

I’m really only estimating the rain. I measured the first 4 hours worth, and it was 4 inches. Unfortunately, I dumped those 4 inches out and turned the container upside down. I don’t know why I did that.
It seemed to me that the remaining 12 hours produced at least twice as much rain. The official measurement for my area was 3.52 inches, but I know that my backyard got a lot more than that.
