Salad Day
So, after complaining about how I hadn’t harvested anything from my garden yet, I went ahead and harvested a bunch from it. I took some of the big leaves from my lettuce, some of my komatsuna, some mizuna, and a sprig of basil and some parsley for a spicy greens salad. I added my largest carrot. 3.5" to 4" long, sweet, wonderful, I need to plant more in my other bed which is filled with soil, not mulch. The salad was delicious, with a lovely honey mustard dressing. I harvested just enough to fill one of my bento boxes, but of course didn’t take a pic of that – doh! :)
My Swiss chard is coming along fine, and almost all of the stragglers among my garlic are now up (waiting on one or two), but my spinach is nothing. The first leaves came up, and then nothing, and nothing, and nothing. I’m thinking I am going to call that square over with and plant something new in it. Hmmm, I wonder what to put there? Maybe some more carrots?? Maybe some onions.

Your salad sounds quite yummy. Carrots are becoming one of my very favorite garden veggies. They taste so much better than store-bought carrots.
