SneIrish Zinnias

Saturday, 25 Oct 08 (posted about 1 months ago) Frost 5°C / 41°F

I have planted Zinnias along with the Sunflowers in the Corner Garden for several years. I like to try different kinds of Zinnias each year. They have all done extremely well in this spot where they get full sun, even though it is a rather wet area with not so great drainage when it rains hard. These were a nice variety. I sowed the seeds the week before Memorial Day, and they sprouted in just a few days. They were blooming before July, and continued in full force until the first hard frost in late October. They were about 3 feet tall in a variety of colors, some were singles, most were doubles, and some had a second set of petals on top of the center.
