Lisapizza's Sweet Corn planting

I’ve never grown corn before, but my husband had in the past and wanted us to try it. I planted two plants. Since then, both have succumbed to ants and some sort of furry creature that bit the corn stalk in half. Well, it was interesting to look at before it became someone’s lunch! While I collected and threw out some of the broken pieces, I do not yet have the heart to pull the stalks out, but I think that’s next.
