Sharonopolis's Cherokee Trail of Tears Pole Bean
Phaseolus vulgaris
Supposed to plant these next to the corn when the corn was 2 feet high, but it kind of got away from me. The corn is at least 5 feet high and sending out those crazy top-stalk thingies already. Nevertheless, I planted one of these for each of the 4 corn plants, and they’re doing well so far. They naturally twist around the corn stalks, even if you screw up and put the seed 4” away from the base of the corn.
We’re intending to use the majority of these as dried beans, since this varietal is supposed to dry well.
