cactusgardener Cactusgardener's Queen Palms
Syagrus romanzoffiana

We have 6 Queen Palms in our yard which were there when we bought the house – 3 in front, 1 along the side of the house and 2 in back by the pool. They are not doing so well, ever since we had an unusual frost here in Phoenix that killed so many palms and bushes. Ever since, they seem to have gone a bit yellow, and the ends of the fronds look like they never grow. Today I put fertilizer spikes in the ground all around them (about 8 spikes total) and we’ll see if they can get the green back and some new healthy-looking fronds.
