    Dormant: Thyme

    Posted about 3 days ago

Unfortunately, the dog of a visitor was allowed to pee right on this plant, effectively killing half of it. Hopefully the root isn’t damaged and it’ll come back next year. I had really grown to loving this thyme, while it wasn’t (isn’t? perhaps I shouldn’t use the ...

The spearmint actually still looks fairly pickable; but I plan on ignoring it until spring, so I’m marking it as dormant.

My thyme has finally been harvested. At first, the hippie deep within my soul wanted to tie it into bunches and hang it for days to dry. Then the practical side of me said, “yeah, that worked real well on the rosemary bunches you have tried to dry. Dusty, brown, icky looking, and showing...

    Spreading
We have harvested from this thyme patch about 4 times now in the past couple of weeks for tomato pasta sauce and they have grown back very quickly and lush. In fact, the bf finally noticed them yesterday and asked, “What’s this?” I’m very happy with these thyme plants as ...

Tried to pot up in this wonderful wall-mounted container that turned out not to be water tight. yikes. So I basically let it die, and this is where I now get my dried thyme.
