Greens too tender to mulch. Again, not enough sun, too much rain. The plot is quite sheltered. I’ve harvested parlsey here in January, under the snow, so it’s possible these will yield carrots around Thanksgiving, which would be very cool.

Went down to the plot and weeded out heaps of the weeds that were growing. 2 of the 6 beds are now ready for seeds. We’ve planted seeds in one of the beds so far and hope they’ll all do ok while we’re away for 10 days.This entry is about Lauzy's Carrots in the Our little plot garden.

Harvesting: One big carrot
I was keeping the carrots in the ground for my mum to pull them out when she visits me this week. But they seem to be getting very big, and I pulled one out to verify. Indeed, much bigger than my last batch. We’re going to eat this one now, and there are still plenty for my mum to pull.

This patch of my square garden has an heirloom mix and one little patch has sporouted ahead of the others (I suppose given that its a mix they will sprout and grow in a random pattern, which is quite unlike the tomato heirloom mix which is sprouting all at the same time, but I guess will fruit at...

Sprouting: And then there were 2
I remember quite vividly putting LOTS of carrot seeds in the ground. Many more seeds than I actually needed. Somehow only 2 carrot plants currently reside in my garden.
