Yummo! A nice picking of turnip greens this morning. Probably 2 tight handfuls. I’ll put them in the frig to wait for more to add to them in a couple days then I’ll stew them up and put on a big pone of cornbread. Oh they are so tender and delicious. Perhaps just a few for a salad to...This entry is about Wenjomatic's Wen's Square Foot Garden garden.

Okra!!! Are you flipping kidding me?!?!
Are you kidding me?!?! I planted okra in the spring, but between the monster squash and tomato jungle, the okra just couldn’t do its thing. So I pulled it up long ago and replanted it with greens for fall. Well. Apparently there was one very determined okra plant hiding out under the tomat...This entry is about Wenjomatic's Wen's Square Foot Garden garden.

With salsa canned and plenty of sauce in the freezer I decided to try drying tomatoes in the dehydrator. My friend just did a huge batch of her italian tomatoes after filling every single jar she owned with sauce and STILL having tomatoes coming out her ears. She has had great success with it in...This entry is about Wenjomatic's Wen's Square Foot Garden garden.

I received a lovely gift box today from Janietta. She sent along some tubers for Red Hot Poker and a cling-on oregano plant. I separated the tubers into 3 small clumps and planted them out. THANKS SO MUCH, JANIETTA!This entry is about Wenjomatic's Frontyard & Porch Goodies garden.

The tomatoes have slowed down, but the plants are still going. It’s fun to watch, but I think its time to top them so they can ripen up all the fruit still on them before frost. First frost will come just over a month from now. If I had to guestimate… Mr. Stripey and Sweet 100 are eac...This entry is about Wenjomatic's Wen's Square Foot Garden garden.

Who are you?.... And where did you come from?
While out watering last evening I found these sprouted in the garden. Much to my suprise… right smack in the middle of my Vulcan Swiss Chard. This morning I pulled it all out. Seems to be either squash/cukes/melons and some sort of grain/grass. The real mystery is what/who buried it there...This entry is about Wenjomatic's Wen's Square Foot Garden garden.

Last night’s dinner… fresh garden pizza with pesto, tomatoes, red bell pepper and onions from my back yard. Cheese and mushrooms from the market. There is nothing more satisfying that sitting out with your feet up, watching your children play, while you munch something homemade from y...This entry is about Wenjomatic's Wen's Square Foot Garden garden.

I’m packaging up some burpless cucumber seeds to go off into the world. It’s all very exciting isn’t it? In a dorky-gardener sort of way. I can’t wait to find out they are received and I look forward to seeing how they do down the road. This entry is about Wenjomatic's Wen's Square Foot Garden garden.

When I harvested basil this week for pesto a couple of the flowers had made seeds which had already darkened up. They aren’t letting go yet, but I put those flowers up to dry for some seed next year. The basil was very hearty and healthy and I’d bought the plant… hopefully IR...This entry is about Wenjomatic's Wen's Square Foot Garden garden.
