A small harvest and still a good havest.
I got another small batch of ripe chilies. The heat is slowing down production, but a few of them make it.

    Cleaning Up

    Posted about 20 days ago | Overcast 38°C / 101°F

I took down the cucumbers in the West garden. It was going nowhere, but I manage to get a couple dozen cucumbers of it. I am not sure what happen, but the young fruit was yellowing and not maturing. I think it was the heat. I still have the cucumbers in the East garden and it they are doin...

    sick cucumber
The cucumbers in the West Garden need to go. They have been unproductive for weeks now. All the immature fruit turns yellow and are distorted. I am not sure what the case is. Too hot, too much water, not enough water, or evil bugs. It’s time to move on.

    Parenthood vs Gardening
The joy of carrying my babbling baby boy to the garden each day is nothing short of magical. Every day, I pick him up from daycare on the way home from work, and when we get home, the puppies (now dogs, but they’ll always be puppies in our hearts) leap about eagerly to get a whiff of us ...

Unknown and Known Squash -- New Yields
I love it when another plant starts to produce its first fruit or veg. Here’s some photos of what I’m currently growing. First off is a mystery veg. I’m not sure if it’s yet ANOTHER Pumpkin vine that’s grown, or if it’s the beginning of a really fat zuchinni...

    Libra's Pumpkin Enchilada Soup
Well, as part of my Victory Garden experience, my goal is to try and find a use for everything in the garden. I finally harvested my pride and joy, an 18-pound (8.16kg) pumpkin, which, to be perfectly honest, I have no idea what I’m going to do with, because it’s too much to cook, and...

    Nice combination
I am so pleased that it seems I’ve found the perfect spot for hosta ‘Fire and Ice’. This one can be tricky to grow, something I didn’t kow when I purchased or planted it, but it seems very happy where it is. My Endless Summer #3 is in a pot while I try to figure out wh...
